1, The difference in processing technology

Silk screen printing: Some customers will request to print some simple, colorful patterns and LOGO on acrylic products, then the silk screen printing process is required at this time. Before screen printing, you need to do vector graphics first, and then print out the film screen. After the screen is made, you can start screen printing on the product.

When screen printing, the ink needs to be prepared first and then poured on the screen, and then the ink is evenly brushed on the screen with a scraper to ensure that the pattern of the ink is clearly visible. After printing a color, change to another screen, repeat these specific actions until the product is finished, and finally put the acrylic product in a special screen frame and wait for the ink to dry.

UV printing: Acrylic flat UV inkjet printing is a pattern printed by a flatbed UV printer, which can be directly printed on the acrylic surface. It only needs to transfer the documents prepared by the customer to the flatbed UV printer, and then the inkjet printing operation can be performed directly. Compared with silk screen printing, UV printing does not require a film plate, and the process is simple.

2, Cost difference

Screen printing needs to make a film screen first. One color or pattern needs a screen. If there are many colors and patterns, the corresponding screen fee and labor cost are not cheap. No matter how many colors there are in acrylic UV printing, it can be printed at one time without the need to make additional screens and pay the corresponding fees. However, the machine cost of general UV printing is relatively high, so the processing fee will be relatively high.

3. Color difference

Acrylic screen printing can only print one color at a time, and patterns of multiple colors need to be overprinted, so it is only suitable for printing solid color patterns, and cannot do complex effects such as gradients. UV printing can print patterns with vivid pictures and bright colors, and gradient colors are of course not a problem.

4, The difference in adhesion

Acrylic screen printing ink is added with a curing agent, which can make the ink better adsorb on the surface of acrylic products. As long as no sharp objects are used to scratch, the pattern will not fall off in normal use. The UV ink used for acrylic flat UV inkjet printing is better than the ink used for screen printing in terms of adhesion and outdoor resistance, and it can print relief effects. It can be used outdoors for a long time without fading and UV protection.
